Growing up, Gina was involved in various sports including soccer, track, and martial arts. Gina became interested in strength training at age 24. She joined a crossfit gym in 2014 where she learned the fundamentals of barbell training and found her passion for Olympic-style weightlifting. In 2018, Gina decided to pursue weightlifting exclusively and joined PFP barbell. Since then, Gina has competed in both local meets and several American Open Series.
In 2020, after obtaining her USAW L1 certification and NASM CPT, she became an assistant weightlifting coach and personal trainer at PFP. Gina also worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for 3 years before becoming a full time coach. Her educational background in physical therapy, along with her coaching experience have helped her develop a keen eye for movement.
Gina enjoys helping others recognize their potential. She believes the sport of weightlifting is accessible to everyone, no matter their lifting experience or age. She especially enjoys encouraging women to pick up a barbell and realize the empowerment, self-confidence, and sense of accomplishment that comes from lifting.
